If you've tried numerous remedies in an attempt to help your child sleep, such as calming baths, screen time limits, night lights, exercise, meditation, lavender, and deep breathing all without success, we understand your frustration.…

Whether you answered yes to a few or all of those questions, the good news is that you can break free from the cycle of poor sleep in our step-by-step, child-focused programme.

I’m Kirsty, Child Insomnia Expert at The Insomnia Clinic.

I have a postgraduate diploma in Specialist Community Public Health Nursing, a diploma in Therapeutic Counselling and a Masters in Research Methods in Psychology.

This has enabled me to help children and families sleep better for over 20 years.

This is the ONE MISTAKE I see parents making…

Focusing on what’s going wrong, rather than on what’s going right. When parents focus on what’s going wrong they can lose confidence in themselves and their child’s ability to get to sleep, and this increases anxiety and makes the problem worse.

Through our unique training programme, we have been helping parents guide their children to better sleep. By the end of our programme, parents consistently find:

  • Bedtimes are no longer a battleground and your child will happily go to bed at the right time.

  • No more interrupted nights or discovering your little one in your bed.

  • Improved moods and emotions not just in your child but the entire family.

  • Less stress and anxiety around bedtime

  • No complicated ‘wind-down’ routines.

Many families see improvements in just a few days.

Families with children who suffer from poor sleep rarely need 1:1 therapy, they just need to know the correct information and the step-by-step process to help their child to learn to sleep well.

That’s why we created the NEW Slumber Skills for Children training programme - to give you the knowledge and tools to coach your child into better sleep habits that will last a lifetime.

It's a system which replaces the need to find a specialist in your area or long-term, expensive therapy sessions.

Frequently Asked Questions

+ What if I need extra support?

When you join the course you get 6 month's automatic access to my private group, "The Dormitory" where you can ask questions and I will provide ongoing support. (You can purchase additional months after this time)

+ I'm worried I won't have time to complete the course.

The course is broken into small sections, with each video being approximately 10 minutes, making it easy to access, even if you only have a small window of time.

+ Can I watch sections again?

The course has short videos which summarise the information as well as e-books which go into more depth, this means you can find a level of learning that suits you.

+ I've already tried everything - how is this different?

Solving your child’s sleep problem can be complicated but it’s a little like finding a good recipe, you may have tried many of the ingredients before, but the way in which you work with the ingredients, the different combinations and time scales can make a big difference to the outcome.

+ Is this the same as 1:1 support?

This course differs from therapist-led support, because it gives you the skills to become your child’s helper. By keeping the support for your child “in-house” it means that the person with knowledge (that’s you!) is able to design what will work best for their child and is on hand at the time the support is needed. We are different from other online resources as our interactive learning community, "The Dormitory", means you have daily access to a real-life practitioner who can answer questions and give support.

+ My child has anxiety - will this still work?

Yes, one of the four sections of this course is entirely dedicated to managing anxiety. In addition, the support which is available via The Dormitory means you can ask questions and get advice on how to tailor the approaches to your individual child’s circumstances.

+ Would 1:1 sessions be better for my child?

If your child has complex medical needs it may be better to have 1:1 sessions than the online course. If you’re not sure what would work best for you, please you our contact form to tell us a little more about your circumstances and we would be happy to advise.

+ What if it doesn’t work?

If you feel the course is not for you then you are protected by my 30-day money-back guarantee, no risk.

+ Why is access to the course limited to 6 months?

CBT is a short term intervention, which has been shown to be most effective when done in a targeted and time orientated way. In addition to this, children can change and develop a great deal in 6 months and we would therefore recommend that this is the maximum amount of time that a plan should be applicable without review.

+ Can I get access to the course for longer than 6 months if I need to?

Yes, if you decide you would like to extend your access to the course beyond 6 months you can pay a monthly subscription of £9.99 per month for every extra month you would like. You can cancel your subscription at anytime.

+ My child has neurodiverse or have different learning needs, will this course work for them?

Every child is different, but as part of our focus group when designing the course, both neurotypical and neurodiverse families found our resources helpful.

+ Will this course work if my child has sleep apnoea?

No, CBT-i is a psychological therapy, and it won’t work on biological issues such as sleep apnoea. Sometimes children with a biological condition such as sleep apnoea also have another sleep problem alongside the sleep apnoea, such as bedtime resistance or sleep-based anxiety. In this situation CBT-i can help with the sleep problems that have a cognitive or behavioural element, leading to an some improvements.

Seashell_bg.png

If you feel discouraged because past approaches haven’t worked, consider this…

— Most ‘treatments’ or ‘sleep tactics’ overlook the most important reason why children struggle to sleep… patterns of behaviour.

The majority of childhood sleep problems stem from behaviour - and not just your child’s, but yours too.

In fact, how parents respond to their children has a huge impact on their children’s sleep - this means that by changing your behaviours you can have a positive impact on your child's sleep.

What’s the solution?

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for insomnia is the only therapeutic treatment method endorsed by the NHS for poor sleep. We have adopted this based on over 20 years of experience working with families so that you can use it with your child.

Our training programme uses tried and tested methods to reduce anxiety by creating positive connections between thoughts and feelings which will improve your child’s sleep.

Bedtimes will no longer spiral out of control – turning into a battle of wills between you and your child. You will feel confident to use the skills and techniques to manage your child's night-time wakings and improve sleep for your whole family.

Plus, the tools you will discover in this course will not only help bedtimes but are also transferable into a variety of situations to improve your parenting skill set.

When you improve your child’s sleep pattern, you’re creating a habit of a lifetime which will benefit your whole family.
