Rewire Your Brain to Sleep Well
Research shows that our thoughts have a profound impact on how we feel.
What you think is what you feel, and just like a garden, your brain is fertile ground – and thoughts are the seeds you plant.
Catastrophic thoughts are common — and completely normal. So, if you find yourself thinking negatively, don’t let it panic you.
However, keep in mind, if you continuously plant seeds such as:
“I am a bad sleeper.”
“If I don’t sleep tonight, I won’t perform in that meeting tomorrow.”
“I know I won’t enjoy the weekend if I don’t sleep well.”
These beliefs will grow and perpetuate the cycle of poor sleep. Your body and mind will interpret the thoughts as a threat, and your body responds by keeping you awake and alert.
Remember, what we think is what we feel, so ask yourself – could I ever sleep well whilst this thought is present?
When it comes to addressing the issue of negative thoughts, the answer isn’t to simply ignore them or “think positively.” Instead, it’s about learning how to spot them early and change the way your body responds by re-framing them.
Then, we can begin using tools to change the power of these thoughts.
This takes practice, but it is absolutely possible, and I can show you how.
